From Fear to Faith: Embracing the Next Level in My Business

Share

I’m about to embark on a new journey, a new growth journey. A few weeks ago, I decided to take my business to the next level. Since I’m visual, I wanted to buy a whiteboard to track my business activities and went on Amazon to price the boards. Then I thought about someone who I felt would be a good mentor and coach, but was afraid to call to ask because I didn’t want to be judged. Nevertheless, I reached out to a person and she agreed. Then she told me about a group she was creating of individuals who also wanted to take their businesses to the next level. Count me in!

Well, the group is now formed, and I’m very nervous because I’ll be working with people who are further along in the journey than I am. In fact, I’m the person who has the most ground to cover. I don’t want to mess up, fail, and embarrass myself. I began wondering if I was doing the right thing because this will take me w-a-y out of my comfort zone.

As I was sitting here, ruminating about being uncomfortable, the Holy Spirit reminded me of a few things:

  • The person I was afraid to call didn’t judge, was flattered, and was in the middle of creating a group of people who want to do the same thing.
  • Just before I hit the purchase on Amazon, I remembered I already had a whiteboard, maybe. At least I had one when I moved here 10 years ago and it was probably in the attic, if I haven’t thrown it out when I was cleaning the attic last year (I have a tendency to donate things that I haven’t used in a while). I went to the attic, and there it was sitting nicely on top of a pile.
  • Years back, I didn’t know how I was going to go to a business conference because I didn’t have the money. I just threw my hands up and said Lord, “If you want me to go, You’re gonna have to provide.” About two weeks later, out of the blue, a business partner called and said, “I’m going to pay your fee.” And another partner offered a ride in her car and told me not to worry about the cost. Neither of these people knew that I was financially challenged.

What was the Holy Spirit telling me? Don’t ignore signs, events and promptings. They will always lead you in the path and plan God has for you. Yeah, I’ll be challenged and out of my comfort zone, but with God, nothing is impossible.

I’ll keep posted 😃
